Painting restoration in Barcelona
Hello, I’m Alex Víctor Ihnatenko, your professional painting restorer in Barcelona. I work with complex cases, large-format paintings, entire collections and family paintings of great sentimental value.
I am a member of CRAC (Associació de Conservadors-Restauradors de Catalunya) and work in accordance with E.C.C.O. professional standards, combining traditional techniques with modern materials and methods.
Among my most notable restorations are the works by Francesc Soler Rovirosa at the Herboristería del Rei and the portrait of the founder of the historic Rieusset factory.
Deep cleaning and conservation
Dust, grease, soot, old varnishes… Each requires a different treatment. But the result!
Do you know that satisfying feeling of peeling the protective film off a new phone? Imagine the same thing with a painting that has been in your home for decades.
It seemed perfectly fine… until you cleaned it!
Professional cleaning can even change the atmosphere of your home.
Recovery of missing paint and pictorial retouching
Is a fragment missing from your painting? Don’t worry! It can be recovered.
Yes, sometimes it will involve artistic interpretation, but only you and I will know where the missing part was.
During my studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, I specialised in imitating painting styles, from Van Gogh to Botticelli. Now I use that knowledge to reconstruct details that seemed lost forever.
Repairing tears and holes in canvases
A cut, a tear or a musket hole from the Napoleonic wars? We can fix it!
I repair the canvas and recover the paint using professional conservation materials.
And no home remedies: glue and adhesive tape can cause more damage than the original hole. Leave it to a restorer!
Complete painting restoration
Does your painting seem beyond repair? Not so fast!
Paint consolidation, canvas reinforcement, relining, cleaning, filling losses with levkas, retouching and final varnishing. A whole arsenal of techniques to bring a badly deteriorated artwork back to life.
When you see the result, you might think it’s magic. And perhaps you’re right. :)
How does it work?
Show me your painting
Send me a few photos of the front and back, its approximate dimensions, and tell me what concerns you. You don’t need to know what treatment it needs. That’s what I’m here for!
Let’s find the best solution
I’ll assess your painting and explain what we can recover, how I would do it, and what it might cost. No obligation. Is it over budget? Tell me. We may be able to find another solution without compromising what matters.
Let’s get to work!
We agree on the price and schedule, and I take care of the restoration. You’ll receive photos of the process and, of course, your restored painting, ready to come home.
Happy clients. Restored artworks.
